HTML5 language will move YouTube to mobile videos

YouTube is one of the most downloaded apps in Zeewe app store. A new version developed based on HTML5 language was launched by Google Company a few months ago providing an easier navigation with a new interface and offering a much superior video quality.

The mobile technology has changed the trends of consumption of information around the world. According to a survey released recently by Google, 48% of people watch videos, 68% use an app, 77% search and 81% browse the internet from a smartphone. Them, in this scenery, YouTube stands as the main site and app to access and share videos on the internet or mobile phone.

According to Jan Ozzer, an expert in video encoding technologies, HTML5 beats up Adobe’s tool in many aspects.

New user interface for iOS and Android

One of the most amazing things that the Apps revolution caused in the market was the possibility for everybody to develop Apps and distribute it to people around the World. But most of developers criticize Stores because of their business model where the developer receives 70% of all revenues. The fact is that this market is growing at fantastic numbers and many changes are happening, like new business model that players are proposing. This week great things were announced in the HTML5 market. After the market received the info that Facebook is working in a secret HTML5 project called Sparta, Google announced a lot of good news about the platform that Zeewe was built.

Tuning your HTML5 apps!

Making HTML5 development and assuring high performance is not an easy task. One interesting blog article talks about some tips to give a good performance to your apps. Their tips are:

1. Images slow things down immensely – get rid of them
2. Avoid text-shadow & box-shadow
3. Hardware-acceleration is quite new and buggy
4. Use touch events whenever you can
5. Avoid opacity
6. There is no silver bullet– hand-code JavaScript and CSS
7. Use translated, not translate
